Join Eliana Gray and John Russell-Hodge as John works toward his first poetry collection—already shaping up to be something special.

John is currently in Ōtepoti as the University Bookshop Summer Writer in Residence, an impressive achievement for a poet with just two publications to his name. The evening will feature readings from John’s work, alongside a conversation with Eliana about his practice, his residency, and the mentoring and editing process they’ve been engaged in over the past few months.

John’s poems are striking and assured, and audiences are warmly encouraged to come along and engage with his work. Eliana will also read from some sharp, new material of her own.
