Friends in Focus Talk: The Journey to the Kingdom - Jane Dodd
Tuesday, 17th June 2025 12:00 PM
Tūhura Otago Museum, Barclay Theatre
This month’s Friends in Focus Talk features local contemporary jeweller Jane Dodd.
Jane will discuss the origins, development, and execution of her jewellery exhibition, The Kingdom, which is currently showing at the Museum.
Designed to resemble a phylogenetic tree, The Kingdom mirrors evolutionary relationships in the animal kingdom and invites you to explore the intricate connections between species.
Jane’s exquisite jewellery is both humorous and intriguing, challenging us to rethink assumptions about animal intelligence and to see ourselves as but one part of the natural world.
You are encouraged to visit the exhibition prior to or after the talk to see Jane’s beautiful pieces on display.
This talk is open to the public and sponsored by the Association of Friends of Tūhura Otago Museum.
Join the Friends in the Friends Room after the talk for a cuppa and chat. The Friends Room is located near Autahi the leopard seal, in the Nature Gallery.
