Araiteuru Marae Multicultural Gala Day Festival

Saturday, 8th June 2024 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Araiteuru Marae, 24 Shetland St, Wakari, Dunedin

Dear Community Members,
We are excited to invite you to join us in commemorating World Refugee Day! This day serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience, courage, and contributions of refugees worldwide. As a community, we believe in coming together to celebrate diversity and extend our support to those who have been forced to flee their homes.
To mark this significant occasion, we are organizing a vibrant gala day of stalls, performances, and community engagement. We aim to create a welcoming and inclusive space where everyone can come together to share their talents, stories, and cultures.
We invite all members of our community, including performers, buskers, schools, sports groups, churches, individuals, families, and community organizations, to participate by holding a stall. Whether you have crafts to sell, food to share, or performances to showcase, your presence will help make this event truly memorable.
To reserve your stall space, we kindly ask for a small donation to support the upkeep of our marae. Your contribution will not only secure your spot but also contribute to the ongoing support of our community space.
Date: June 8th
Time: 8.30am Karakia and Doors Open (FOR STALL HOLDERS ONLY)
Public Time: 10am Gala Starts 👍😃
Location: Araiteuru Marae, 24 Shetland St, Wakari, Dunedin
Let's stand together on our Marae, embraced within the Korowai of Tikanga Māori, in solidarity with our refugeed whānau and celebrate the richness of our diverse community. Your participation and support will make a meaningful difference and help spread love and compassion to those who need it most.
We look forward to seeing you there!
