The Creatives in Schools programme is a wellbeing programme delivered by the Ministry of Education in partnership with the Ministry for Culture and Heritage Te Manatū Taonga and Creative New Zealand.

Creatives in Schools aims to provide creative learning experiences that enhance the wellbeing of students and ākonga and develop their knowledge and skills in communication, collaboration, and creative thinking and practice.

If your proposal is successful, schools and kura will work with the creative to deliver the creative experience for students and ākonga. The project must run for between eight and 20 weeks. Creatives in Schools supports Years 1–13, including students with learning support needs and from a refugee background.

The Creatives in Schools learning experiences enhance students’ wellbeing, improves their core competencies in communication, collaboration and creative thinking, and inspires their interest and awareness of careers in the arts and creative sectors.

Schools and kura can either work with creatives from their community or select one or more creatives on the available creatives page.
