Beloved, Emma Farry, winner in the grief category

Beloved is an antidote to these crazy, challenging and uncertain times. It is a practical guide for those navigating the emotional waves of grief and loss and can bring comfort to those going through hard times. The book encourages the reader to slow down, breathe deeply and connect with their true nature in order to become more present in their own lives.

Beloved is the culmination of two years of grieving. Nature helped Emma to heal, and in the process, revealed to her a new way of seeing the world. It also fostered a love of photography, and the photos in the book are ones she took over the two year period.

Freedom Song, Emma Farry, distinguished favorite in the spirituality category.

Freedom Song is a powerful and beautiful panacea for the world we live in. It’s a go-to book in times of trouble and a tool to enable more harmony and peace in the world. The book’s simple message – love conquers all – is both confronting and inviting in its delivery.

Supporting this timely message is the phenomenal artwork of Ewan McDougall. It is a meaningful musing on life as well as striking coffee table/art book with a soulful message.

“This recognition shows us that we are part of a global publishing community and that books are an enduring way to celebrate our shared humanity and craft a kinder and better world. Both books have a strong mental health focus andI am excited that they will now reach a global audience” says Emma Farry.

Once again, in 2019, the New York City Big Book Award achieved worldwide participation. Entries remained impressive, book submissions streamed in from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. Cities across the globe such as Bangkok, Cape Town, London, Los Angeles, Nagasaki and New York were amongst the entries. We are proud to announce the diversity of winners and distinguished favourites.
