Paper Road Press is calling for submissions to the third annual Year’s Best Aotearoa New Zealand Science Fiction & Fantasy.
The Year’s Best is a reprint anthology that collects together the best short speculative fiction by Kiwi authors first published in the previous year.
Paper Road Press is looking for short stories (less than 10,000 words) from all genres and subgenres of science fiction and fantasy, by authors from Aotearoa New Zealand, and which were first published in 2020.
Eligibility
This is a reprint anthology. Only stories that were first published between 1 January and 31 December 2020 will be considered.
Rights and payment
For accepted stories, Paper Road Press will license worldwide non-exclusive anthology rights in English, in print and ebook formats. Payment of NZ 2c per word will be made on publication.
Deadline
The deadline for submissions is 1 March, 2021. Successful authors will be informed by midyear.

Please send digital copies of eligible works directly to the editor, Marie Hodgkinson, at marie (at) paperroadpress (dot) co (dot) nz, accompanied by details of where and when the story was first published and a short author bio.
