Wordsmith course: Radio Drama II

By Jonathan Cweorth | Posted:

This is a short course proposed for February 2019. The focus would be on writing radio drama but, depending on interest, could also include adapting short fiction (narration with bursts of dialogue), poems and monologues (dramatic or essayic), and memoir sequences to radio.

The course would be open to beginners as well as published and/or experienced writers of any genre. The current plan is for participants to then have an additional workshop opportunity in mid-2019 to finish a piece of work, which could then be performed live at the Dunedin Public Library, and broadcast on Otago Access Radio, as part of NZ Theatre month in Sept 2019.

This is a slightly different offering from previous Wordsmith courses in that participants will be supported to develop and complete their work, and have it performed, if they wish.

We are looking for ten keen participants for the course to go ahead. Expressions of interest to Jonathan Cweorth (ignatius@dunedinblog.co.nz) or Caroline Lark (cr.barnes@hotmail.com)
