Creative Cities Southern Hui warmly welcomes VICTOR BILLOT as delegate and MC. The local writer and poet will be participating in events for the duration of the Hui, and officiating at Creative Connections on Thursday 30th November.

'I am stoked to be part of this fantastic event which shows how Dunedin is building its involvement with the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, and how the local creative community is working together to make this happen.'

Victor Billot has published poetry, short stories, journalism and the occasional Facebook comment, and is currently the Publicity and Marketing Coordinator at Otago University Press. He is also a former Parliamentary candidate for the Alliance Party, and trade union official in the maritime industry.

His published poetry collections include Machine Language and Mad Skillz for the Demon Operator. His latest collection, Ambient Terror was released at this year’s Dunedin Writers and Readers Festival.

Victor is also a singer and songwriter for Alpha Plan, a band he collaboratively formed in 1996, and re-formed in 2016.

He has read his poetry at events around Dunedin, including National Poetry Day: The Perfect 10 event, hosted by the Otago-Southland NZ Society of Authors.

Victor’s poety has been described as "compelling and punchy" with "genuine imagination and ingenuity". (Otago Daily Times review 6 May 2017)
