Warm congratulations to Ōtepoti’s Oshadha Perera on his selection as a 2025 Melbourne City of Literature Virtual Writer in Resident! Throughout his online residency in November, Oshadha will help diversify and enrich Geelong Regional Libraries’ engagement with the community.

Oshadha Perera is a poet and short story writer whose work revolves around the themes of loss and grief, belonging, family, environment and identity. His poems and short stories have been recognised by writing competitions and awards nationally and internationally, including the Lancaster Writing Awards and Dan Davin Literary Awards. He was the winner of the Emerging Talent category of the Southland Creative Arts Awards in 2024.
