Be the first to see a brand new script in development, as presented by the best and brightest talent from right here in Ōtepoti Dunedin.

The reading for 2026 is The Mothers, by Indie Raman.

Do we define our circumstances, or do they define us?

Spanning three generations of women connected by blood, identity and survival, The Mothers follows the story of mother-daughter duo Ashira and Kefira, Tamil women whose lives and culture are shadowed by the intergenerational trauma of the three-decade-long Sri Lankan civil war.

Playwright Indie Raman and dramaturg Sahara Pohatu-Trow preview the 14 November event in this interview from the OARsome Morning Show: https://tinyurl.com/IndieRamanOAR
