NFFD 2023 winners in Aotearoa New Zealand

We are happy to share the June issue of Flash Frontier, with the top stories from this year's National Flash Fiction Day competition and accompanying features.

We begin with a hearty congratulations to this year's top winners:

FIRST: Moon landing – Margaret Moores / Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland
SECOND: Wayfinding – Annabel Wilson, Ohinehou Lyttelton
THIRD: Revelations – Annette Edwards-Hill, Te Whanganui a Tara Wellington

Youth international competition

The youth winning stories are published at fingers comma toes, with an international mix of young writers showing their mettle in the short form. Congratulations to all the young people writing flash fiction, and especially the top winners there:

SECOND: Presumption of Death – Ocean Jade (age 18; Dunedin, New Zealand)
THIRD: Derivatives – Sophia Hall (age 17; Washington DC, United States)

Micro Madness - with longlisted micros & videos

We also applaud those who were featured in the international Micro Madness series, judged this year by Mikaela Nyman and Kathy Fish, and dedicated to poet, Micro Madness winner and past judge and friend of this community Rose Collins. In this issue we share the Long List from the 2023 series, with video readings by contributors.
