Acting in Aotearoa traces a cultural history of acting practice in Aotearoa/New Zealand, whose Indigenous Māori practitioners have made a significant impact on acting processes, principles and values in this postcolonial nation.

The book was launched at University Book Shop Otago on 25 July by Lisa Warrington (ONZM), the karakia timatanga was given by Nick Tipa (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Hāteatea), and Dr Ian Chapman continued the theatrical theme by singing “Pirate Jenny” by Brecht and Weill
