The University of Otago's annual Writer creative writing competition is now open, with this year's thought-provoking prompt: Small things – overlooked details and ordinary moments.

Whether you write poetry or short stories, this is your chance to transform the everyday into something extraordinary. With acclaimed Dunedin author Paddy Richardson judging this year's competition, now is the perfect time to put pen to paper.
