Ōtepoti – He Puna Auaha, Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature is excited to welcome you to the Creative Cities Southern Hui Tuesday 28 November – Saturday 2 December.

The Creative Cities Southern Hui is a multiple day collaborative event, generously sponsored by the NZ National Commission for UNESCO and in partnership with the University of Otago’s Centre for the Book, offering talks and workshops around the themes of creativity, connection and collaboration.

On Thursday 30th November, Creative Connections will feature a wealth of global and local keynote speakers exploring creativity as the touchstone of healthy and sustainable communities. Dunedin is excited to welcome Anna Maria Lorusso from Bologna UNESCO City of Music as guest speaker.

Bologna’s iconic Children’s Book Fair was the starting place for the blossoming creative partnership between the City of Music and Dunedin. In April Dunedin won a complimentary stand at the fair, after their proposal was selected from entries across the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, and this was the exciting beginning of an enduring friendship between the two Creative Cities.

Anna Maria will be present for the duration of the Hui, participating in events and presenting her talk at Creative Connections, ‘Promoting culture in the city: book fairs, libraries and university’.

The Creative Cities Southern Hui is for all creative minds – an opportunity to foster creative connections through all arts forms, disciplines and interests.
