Longlisted for 2024 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards

Last week saw the announcement of the 2024 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards longlist, and Dunedin Public Art Gallery are thrilled to see Marilynn Webb: Folded in the Hills on the list for the Booksellers Aotearoa New Zealand Award for Illustrated Non-Fiction.

This book has been the work of many hands, with Marilynn’s work placed front and centre, supported by the words of Cilla McQueen, Hone Tuwhare, Kura Te Waru Rewiri, Bridie Lonie, Ruby Solly, and essa may ranapiri, alongside curators Lauren Gutsell, Bridget Reweti, and Lucy Hammonds.

Marilynn Webb: Folded in the Hills is proudly bi-lingual, translated into te reo Māori by Komene Cassidy. Designed by Karina McLeod, this book is a true celebration of Marilynn’s life’s work.

The exhibition Folded in the Hills continues at DPAG until April 7th.
