The Hone Tuwhare Trust is excited to announce our 2026–2027 residencies bringing together a new cohort of writers and artists who will spend time at Hone’s crib at Kākā Point.

From Hone Tuwhare Charitable Trust:

This year marks an important expansion of our residency offerings with the introduction of Te Toi o Tuwhare – The Tuwhare Art Residency. Alongside our poetry, creative writing and creative residencies, this new opportunity reflects a broader vision for the Tuwhare Trust to support Toi Māori in Aotearoa.

• James Webster & Hinemoa Jones - Te Toi o Tuwhare, The Tuwhare Art Residency

Hone Tuwhare has left a legacy of encouraging people to express themselves, write, create and celebrate life; through these residencies, we are extending that same encouragement.
