National Flash Fiction Day 2025: Climate and Creative Expression

Calling all emerging writers!

NFFD are looking for micros up to 100 words to be included in this year’s poster series, around writing our world with views to climate change and creativity.

A series will be selected for the 2025 poster series, and artworks from local visual artists will accompany each presentation. See your words up on a poster in this visually stunning series, shared around town and presented at the June 22 NFFD event.

The challenge: Write a small story with the theme in mind – interpreted how you like. A prose poem, a microfiction or creative nonfiction. All styles – you are encouraged to be inventive!

What to submit: 1 piece per writer, up to 100 words.

When to submit: Between now and May 30, midnight.
