Tagata Moana Artist Residency at ONEONESIX

Pacific performing artists from across Aotearoa are invited to develop new or existing performance work, build meaningful connections, and engage with the vibrant creative community in Te Tai Tokerau.
ONEONESIX, in partnership with the Whangārei Fringe Festival, has announced a 7-day Tagata Moana Residency at their space in the heart of Whangārei. This residency is open to Pacific Artists throughout Aotearoa.
The purpose of this residency is:
To support Pasifika Artists, either an individual or a group, to develop a new or existing performance project (at any stage of development).
To strengthen networks with other Tagata Moana artists, Te Tai Tokerau performing arts community, and the wider performing arts industry.
The residency will include:
$1,000 budget (GST excluded) to support the creation of new work.
Use of the ONEONESIX rehearsal space for 5 – 7 days (does not have to be consecutive)
Mentorship support from ONEONESIX and Whangārei Fringe team
External Mentorship budget to use with an appropriate industry mentor
Technical support if required from the venue
Sharing, Debrief and Planning support for the next stage of the project (post residency)
Access to community of artists and audience for an in-house sharing of work if needed.
