WE ARE MOVING BACK... UPDATE

By UBS Otago | Posted:

After 16 months in or temporary store at the HD Skinner Annex we are moving back to our home of the last 60 years, across the road at 378 Great King Street. It's been beautifully refurbished for us by our owners, the Otago University Students' Association, who have taken so much care to ensure the heritage building is in good shape for another 100+ years while also making a space within which the bookshop and our bookloving community can really hum.

We're closed for booksales between 26-30 August and re-open on Wednesday 31 August. NZ Post will continue to operate from the HD Skinner Annex until re-opening.

SOMETHING OLD... SOMETHING NEW | New Brand for Our New Store
We've taken the opportunity to refresh our logo and brand.

With a nod to Descartes' Tree of Knowledge, and referencing the Otago Museum's oak trees for a sense of place and to acknowledge our recent brand, we're thrilled to show you our 'new look' just as we get ready to return to our 'new look' bookshop.

With a pile of books as a nod to both our student owners and our committed booklovers, it is topped off with an acorn to express our joy for our littlest booklovers who frequent our shop or new customers discovering new knowledge and new experiences through books and reading.

Every day our booksellers help customers, whether online or instore, embark on their own reading journey whether with a sense of lifelong learning, curiosity or simply fun and escapism.

We love all of our booklovers whether old friends or newly acquainted, young or old, intellectual or into anything. Haven't been into the bookshop before, or for a while? Then kick of your Spring Reading and Summer Gifting next week when we re-open.

Nga mihi nui, and thank you for all your continued support while we've been in temporary digs.

The UBS Team
