Read NZ are encouraging people to celebrate in a way that suits them. You could go hard! Or just do what fits your busy life. Here are some ideas that can percolate over the school holidays.

• Contact your local library or bookstore and see if they have plans

• Join our national read along (link below)

• Assign everyone in the family the task of picking a children's book and do family book club each night

• Decorate a reading space with bookish posters (we can help with this!)

• Dress as your favourite book character

• Teachers: swap book recs

• Check out some of our book recs

• if you're hosting an event, let us know and we'll help promote it
