If you’ve studied in Dunedin, you’ll know all about the city’s famous student culture.

Aside from all the studying and sleeping through lectures... one of the best things about life at Otago, is the flatting.

Some of those iconic named student houses have been featured in a guided walking tour lead by heritage researcher and author of 'Scarfie Flats of Dunedin' by Sarah Gallagher.

As well as learning about the fascinating stories behind these buildings, the tour also coincides with the "Wiki Loves Scarfie Flats" photo competition, which is all about getting keen photographers to snap photos of the iconic properties for Wikimedia Commons... that's open until the 23rd.
