Nominations for 2023 Bucheon Diaspora Literary Award are now open

An international literary award given to a full-length novel on the theme of diaspora written by living authors.

The main theme ‘Diaspora’ of this award refers to the human activities that have moved for our survival, to make a better life, in search of the unknown. Sometimes we’ve been forced to move by the pain of war, by invasions of other groups.

The first edition of the award ceremony was held in November, 2021 and the winner was Ha Jin’s Free Life. The 2022 awards ceremony will be held in October.

More details about the literary award can be found here: https://budilia.or.kr/

You can submit a form on the Nomination menu of the homepage. The submission period is from Monday 23 May to Friday 8 July 2022.

To make UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature part of the award, it is designed that one book among the nominations from the CoL will be shortlisted for the judging panel to consider at the end of November 2022.
