Call for abstracts!

The University of Otago will host the 2027 International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures (IASIL) Conference from 28 June–2 July 2027, bringing researchers and writers from around the world to Aotearoa.

The conference theme, 'Children of the Nation', takes inspiration from the 1916 Easter Rising Proclamation which promised to ‘cherish all of the children of the nation equally’ and invites exploration of nationhood, identity, diaspora, childhood, migration, colonisation, futurity and much more through Irish literature and culture.

Deadline for abstracts is 31 October 2026.
