Otago English PhD candidate to develop her digital skills through trans-Tasman opportunity

Congratulations to Otago English PhD candidate Mere Taito and the other recently announced participants in the Creative NZ Digital Fellowship Programme

The six-month programme provides participants with $10,000 each to explore their digital practice through a mix of expert mentoring, workshops and collaboration.

Mere plans to use her fellowship to explore digital technologies as a means of poetry making and Rotuman language revival.

Mere says: “For me, digital technology has blown up the boundaries and the margins of a ‘page’ and changed my creative writing and research practice forever,
“I can’t wait to learn more about the reflexive practices of the other artists in this fellowship, and whether they might be applicable (or not) to a language regenerative context
.”
