What Inspires You?: Dunedin Primary Schools Poetry Competition

Dunedin Public Libraries, in partnership with the Otago-Southland Branch of the New Zealand Society of authors invite all Dunedin Primary Schools to take part in a special open poetry competition celebrating 60 years of the University of Otago’s Robert Burns Fellowship.
Competition open to primary school children in years 3-6, and intermediate students in years 7-8, and children may write about whatever subject they choose.
Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category, plus prizes for your school.
A chance to have your poem judged by a professional poet – our judges are Diane Brown and Majella Cullinane. Winning poems will be published online by UNESCO Dunedin City of Literature and Dunedin Public Libraries, and in NB Magazine. All winners will be invited to read their poem at the Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day celebration on the evening of 24th August 2018.
