Welcome to the Wānaka Writing Workshop Weekend. If you're a writer, or thinking about writing, then this is for you.
Five two-hour writing sessions (and a performance workshop and showcase) over two days, 28th and 29th October 2023. The schedule, in brief, is as follows:
Saturday
9.30-11.30 Ritual in Writing
How we set ourselves up for writing is so important. Explore how you can incorporate physical and emotional rituals into your writing practice.

12.30-2.30 Sounds Good
Great writing works for both the eyes and the ears. Inject sonic awareness into your writing so you can harness the power of the auditory experience for both writer and audience.

3.30-5.30 Let's Get Personal
The personal essay is having a moment. Learn how to shape your personal narrative into publishable pieces.

In a time of climate crisis it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and disconnected. Experiment with describing and interacting with the natural world in your writing.

Editing is a crucial part of writing. Learn processes, tips and tricks to help you shape your work.

3.30-5.30pm Performance Workshop & Showcase
Are you a writer who likes to hear your words aloud? We'll share ways of making sure your performance is comfortable and fun for you and for the audience. All welcome to read, all welcome to watch.

Writing workshops are at Community Networks and the performance workshop and showcase at Rhyme and Reason.
