Robert Lord Writers Cottage Open Home
Sunday, 15th October 2023 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Robert Lord bought his cottage at 3 Titan St, Dunedin, after taking up the 1987 Burns Fellowship at the University of Otago.
Before his death, he set up a trust to make his home a place of welcome for writers to come to Dunedin and take part in the city’s literary life.
In accordance with Robert's wishes, the cottage has been run as a rent-free residency since 2003, and has hosted over 100 writers.
Listed as a Historic Place Category 1, the cottage has been described as 'a tiny house for a man of large passions and commitments'.
Drop in and see Robert's cottage for yourself from 1 to 4pm on Sunday 15 October, in association with the Ōtepoti Dunedin Heritage Festival.
