17 August 2021 6:00pm

We are excited to announce the launch of our new Rainbow Book Group!

Join us on the 3rd Tuesday of each month for hot drinks/snacks and chat about books, films, culture and all things Rainbow. Celebrating visibility, creativity and community. We’re all about Pride not Prejudice!

Open to LGBTQAI+ teens & allies aged 13-19
3rd Tuesday each month, 4.30pm – 5.30/6pm Dunningham Suite, City Library

PLUS! Our rainbow movie festival continues throughout the year on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, and the film screenings will immediately follow the book group. (see below). Because the movies we are showing are rated for ages 16 and above, we are also broadening our 3rd Tuesday Rainbow evenings by launching an LGBTQA+ themed book group in June. This will give younger teens a chance to join the conversation. Our book club is being launched with a very special guest, writer Robyn Maree Pickens, who will explore themes in the book Oranges are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson.

Robyn Maree's guest appearance in June is part of the celebrations leading up to National Flash Fiction Day.

Come along to book group and if you're 16+ you can stay on to watch the film

Rainbow Movie Festival by Beamafilm

Screenings of some of the best movies on an LGBT+ theme.

The Festival is open to young adults aged 16 – 23 offering a safe social space to enjoy a movie and chat about the film.

No need to book, just bring your own snacks and soft drinks (no alcohol).

Please bring along some ID for proof of age as some movies are R16 years+.
