In association with the current Jealous Saboteurs exhibition at Dunedin Public Art Gallery, young writers are invited to take part in a writers’ workshop inspired by the works of artist, Francis Upritchard.

The workshop, run by Dunedin writer Sue Wooton, will include a visit to Dunedin Public Art Gallery to preview the exhibition, followed by a two-hour tutorial at City Library, where students will be taken through ideas and planning to enable them to produce a piece of writing, eligible for entry into the Jealous Saboteurs Teen Writing competition.

The competition is being run in a collaboration between Dunedin Public Art Gallery, Dunedin Public Libraries, and the Dunedin UNESCO City of Literature, and is open to young writers in years 9-13 of high school. Full details of the competition will be provided to workshop participants, and can also be found at www.dunedinlibraries.govt.nz/events/our-competitions from 12th August.

Numbers for the workshop are strictly limited, so early booking is essential: via www.dunedinlibraries.govt.nz/events or by email library@dcc.govt.nz or call 03 474 3690
