Author Talk | The Knocking Brain: Poetry and Mental Health

Poets Claire Lacey (they/them) and Rushi Vyas (he/him) put their work in conversation with one another. Having written poetry in the aftermath of traumatic brain injury and suicide bereavement, respectively, Claire and Rushi turn to poetry to find expression for the grief and loneliness that accompany life changing events. Though this conversation will plumb into heavy territory, it will be approached with gentleness and compassion between these two poets, friends, and collaborators.
