2019 Puaka Matariki Event | Teaching and Learning in the Dark

25 June 2019 6:00pm — 7:00pm

Please join us for a kōrero by Dr Karyn Paringatai from Te Tumu, School of Māori, Pacific & Indigenous Studies,
on her innovative award-winning teaching pedagogy.  Come along and learn a short waiata and experience learning in the dark for yourself!

Karyn will look at the ways in which Māori utilised the darkness, or absence of the visual sensory factor, to transmit information and how this method has been implemented into teaching at the University of Otago. We will then have the opportunity to learn waiata using this innovative method.

All welcome for kaputī from 5.30pm

Hocken Library Seminar Room, 90 Anzac Avenue, Dunedin
