2019 Puaka Matariki Event | TE TIAKI TAOKA PEPA WĀNAKA - CARING FOR YOUR WHĀNAU COLLECTIONS

Whānau are warmly invited to join Vicki-Anne Heikell (nō Te Whānau-a-Apanui) Field Conservator from the Alexander Turnbull Library, for a workshop on caring for your own iwi photographs and documents.
Hosted at the Hocken Collections with morning and afternoon tea provided.

Participants, please bring along a small item such as a favourite family photograph, paipera tapu, diary, whakapapa book or photo album. As part of the workshop you will make a conservation box or folder for your own taoka.

Vicki-Anne is a trained paper conservator. Her role includes advising on preservation of documentary heritage collections for iwi organisations, hapū and marae-based collections.
