Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival - Thanks for joining us!

By Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival | Posted:

To those of you excellent people who attended the Dunedin Writers & Readers Festival 2019: thank you kindly. We hope you came away with busy heads and full book bags.

If you thought the 2019 festival had added buzz, you weren't imagining it. We're pleased to say that you helped us towards record attendance figures. You turned out in droves to hear about murder, feminism, villains and grannies, fake news, race, class, distraction, poetry, off-grid living, te reo Māori, gender bending, Scarfie flats, mental health, humour, comics, motherhood and more.

One of the absolute highlights for us was the introduction of our schools programme, a new initiative that invited Dunedin and regional schools to come along and hear John Boyne, Markus Zusak, Lizzie Marvelly, Toby Morris and Akala talk about topics dear to them.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank again all the authors, audience members, funders and sponsors who made this festival possible.

Our next festival proper will be in 2021 but stay tuned for pop-up events to tide you over.

Chance to win

In order to make our future doings extra-specially good, we’d love your feedback. If you could take five minutes to complete the survey below, we'd be most grateful.

And if you complete it by Friday 31 May we’ll put you in the draw to win a pile of books from festival authors. There’s not much wrong with that now, is there?

Take the survey
