Submissions open for 2024 John O’Connor First Book Award

The 2024 John O’Connor First Book Award is open for submissions and will be judged by Harry Rickets.
Any resident in Te Waipounamu who has not yet published a full collection of poetry can apply.
For the purposes of this competition, a chapbook is defined as a single publication of 24 pages or fewer, and a full collection as longer than 24 pages.
Entry fee is $30, and the prize is publication by Sudden Valley Press on National Poetry Day 2024, with much fanfare!
