Kete Books and RNZ announce new partnership targeting more readers for Aotearoa New Zealand books

Kete Books has partnered with RNZ in a new content sharing agreement that will expand coverage about books in Aotearoa across their sites.

The agreement will see content such as interviews with New Zealand authors and book reviews from popular RNZ radio shows such as Nine to Noon and Saturday Morning shared on the Kete Books website.

In turn, book reviews and interviews written for Kete Books will be shared on RNZ’s website and social media platforms.

The new agreement will mean Aotearoa New Zealand books and writers will reach broader audiences, says Melanie Laville-Moore, chair of the Coalition for Books, the organisation that produces Kete Books.

“Audio is an increasingly important book format and it’s important that Kete provides news and reviews to readers through the same medium. Kete Books is thrilled to be aligned with the strong RNZ platform as we look to expand engagement between readers and New Zealand writers.”

Lucy Corry, RNZ’s Executive Editor – Lifestyle & Entertainment, says this partnership is a win-win for everyone interested in New Zealand books and writing.

“RNZ is proud to be part of New Zealand’s cultural ecosystem, and we’re delighted to be able to start such a mutually beneficial arrangement with Kete Books. I’m looking forward to sharing Kete’s considered and thoughtful reviews.”

Founded in 2020, Kete Books is a website devoted to helping readers discover the latest in books in Aotearoa.

It is produced by the Coalition for Books with the support of Creative New Zealand.
