Celebrate the first returnees for the new season at 1pm on Monday 25 September!

On 22 September 2023, the first returning breeding adult for the new season was spotted on the headland! In fact, not just one but two were seen!

GBK (green blue black) a 20 year old male and YKG (yellow black green) a 30 year old female were seen hanging out together on Friday afternoon by ranger Colin. YKG fledged a chick in 2020 but her mate hasn’t been seen since 2021, GBK is also bereaved so it is hoped they may pair up. Time will tell!

Join the Royal Albatross Centre to ring the bells in celebration of the first returnees for the new season at 1pm on Monday 25 September!
